About Us

Our club is a group of  creative, dedicated  people who want to serve those in need  — and enjoy ourselves, too!  We’re non-political and non-sectarian.  Through efficient weekly meetings usually featuring Guest Speakers,  we become educated a variety of topics.  Recently these topics included Doctors Without Borders,  motorcycle racing, social media,  suicide education and prevention, the fracking process and national health care law.

Our club is family-friendly. Our members sometimes bring their children to meetings. Kids can have a snacks (sometimes we have a dinner), listen in, do homework, watch TV.   When Rotary is family affair it means, everyone benefits.

Sometimes we meet at an especially interesting  business or non-profit for an inside tour or hear other organizations describe their institutions and needs..  We organize fundraisers and service projects or join other Rotary clubs or local groups in a common project for the public good.  But whatever good we’re doing, we have a good time doing it.  And as we like to say, “With you, we can do more!”

Locally we support: Valatie Food Pantry, Barnwell Angels of ElderACT, a Rotary related seniors club, Ichabod Crane Back Pack Food Program, Awards and Scholarships for ICCS students, Kinderhook-Niverville-Valatie Rail Trail, Valatie Community Theater, Valatie Senior Center,  Operation Warm  (new winter coats for ICCS younger students), ICCS Arts in Education, Kinderhook-Valatie-Niverville Rail Trail (non-motorized vehicles only) to link our communities.

Internationally we support:   Polio Plus, the Rotary program for eradication of polio;  ShelterBox (disaster relief) ; Village on India by helping to provide a school, a water and sanitation program and community health;  Academic centers in several countries to train leaders to become peacemakers using advanced techniques for conflict resolution.

MEETINGS:  We meet every Wednesday from 6:15 – 7:15 at the Valatie Senior Center on 3302 Williams St. in Valatie, NY 12184.
